Factors associated with the identification, assessment, and placement of culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) students with learning disabilities (LD) have been examined in a number of studies (e.g., Artiles & Trent, 1994; Garcia & Yates, 1986; Heller, Holtzman, & Messick, 1982; Ortiz & Yates, 1988; Ramirez & Johnson, 1988; Tucker, 1980).
