Q NEARLY four years ago I met a man, through my job, who was buying and selling property.
He said that when my husband and I sold our house we should invest with him. He said we would get a lease in our names so we paid over pounds 20,000 on a verbal agreement.
When we asked for the money back, he said it was invested with other people's money to a total of pounds 100,000. Then he asked us to sign a form to say he could use the money for two or three years.
He has repaid only pounds 2,500. We have paid out pounds 80 to date for solicitors' letters ...
