NEW ORLEANS -- Women with multiple pregnancy losses without an apparent cause are likely to have thrombophilia, and treatment with enoxaparin improves their chance of having a live birth, according to an Israeli study.
"Enoxaparin can prevent fetal wastage in women with thrombophilia and pregnancy loss," Dr. Benjamin Brenner said at the annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology.
In a cohort study done by Dr. Brenner and his colleagues at the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, Israel, 145 women with recurrent pregnancy losses who did not have a previously diagnosed thrombophilia were matched to 145 women without pregnancy loss.
