Dow Corning has acquired Solvay's silicon metals subsidiary Companhia Brasileira Carbureto de Calcio (CBCC; Rio de Janeiro). CBCC has capacity for 40,000 m.t./year of silicon metal and 20,000 m.t./year of ferrosilicon alloys at Santos Dumont, Brazil.
