IT was a rather shabby end for the patron saint of romance when his remains were stuck in an old cardboard box and left to gather dust on top of a wardrobe.
Hardly fitting for St Valentine, who has inspired great romance for hundreds of years.
The bones - well, some of them - of the famous Christian martyr lay untouched for six years inside a Scottish church.
Now the casket will be given a new home and put on display.
Bizarrely, even though he was an Italian who died in 270 AD, St Valentine's final resting place is ...
