Demand for adhesives in the United States is forecast to rise 2.6 percent per year to more than 15 billion pounds in 2003. Although adhesives are used in nearly all sectors of the economy, final demand will remain heavily linked to the packaging and construction industries, with most remaining demand arising in manufacturing and assembly operations.
