THE aircraft carrier HMS Invincible was steaming to the Adriatic last night as Nato lined up the biggest air and sea armada since the Second World War.
It was part of a build-up of weaponry facing tyrant Slobodan Milosevic.
Invincible, cream of Britain's fleet, carries Sea Harriers and Harrier GR7 bombers and Sea King helicopters.
The main role of the Harriers will be to support air defences, said Air Marshal Sir John Day, Britain's Chief of Defence Staff.
