A GARDEN should be rather small or you will have no fun at all. Well, my garden's a good size and that's why I'm not a total alpine fanatic.
The common-sense choice of plants for a garden such as mine are the ones that cover a lot of ground and are robust enough to look after themselves.
The wee cushions and hummocks of the alpines just don't cover enough area to make them worthwhile in a garden as big as this one.
