BEIJING, March 20 Asia Pulse - Twenty-seven Chinese steel producers signed 3.2 million tons of steel sales contracts under the "Import Substitution" program in 1999, and had actually delivered 3.05 million tons of them by the end of December, 1999, overfulfilling the annual target of three million tons.
According to the State Bureau of Metallurgical Industry (SBMI), of the 27 steel producers covered by the "Import Substitution" program, 12 overfulfilled their respective targets. They are Baoshan Steel, Wuhan Steel, Shougang, Taiyuan ...
