An American Air Force captain has told how he trailed golf star Payne Stewart's doomed Lear jet as it cruised at 47,000ft on autopilot.
"It's a very helpless feeling to pull up alongside another aircraft and realise the people inside are unconscious or in some other way incapacitated," said Capt Chris Hamilton.
