An old wireless set dumped in a rubbish skip in the Sparkbrook area of Birmingham is the only one of its kind in the world and worth several thousands of pounds experts in the field of old-fashioned radios said today.
"Many, myself included, are firmly convinced that many thousands of pounds worth of valuable antiques and collectables are thrown away as rubbish in bins or skips every day in Britain," said Mr Jonathan Hill, organiser of the National Vintage Communications Exhibition which will be held at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre tomorrow.
