Over a snatched lunch in the basement of a church centre in Tottenham Court Road, Ian McDiarmid is reflecting on the play he is in the middle of rehearsing.
The actor and joint artistic director of the Almeida Theatre Company is playing the title role in this rare production of Marlowe's The Jew of Malta.. It is one of those cases where the title seems to be much more familiar than the play itself.
