Ted Hankey was crowned the Embassy World Champion following a superb display in the final in which he destroyed the favourite Ronnie Baxter 6-0 taking the title with a 170 checkout. There were some top darts thrown throughout the competition with Bobby George quoting "this is the true World Championship" but is is really without the likes of Phil Taylor taking part. Let us hope we see a Taylor versus Hankey play-off soon.

I hope all you darters read the 'Couch Potato' in last weeks Sports Argus, a good article containing a few home truths.
