Some years ago I spent 50p on a picture, which hangs in our hall. It is called the Angelus, a reference to the practice of structuring each day around three short periods of prayer. In Catholic countries the Angelus bell rings out to remind people to pray.
I can sit here in Birmingham and send messages all over the world in a few seconds. I can do my shopping at any time of day or night and buy produce from distant lands. All this makes time and seasons less important than ever before.
