All-round entertainer Anthony Newley, who has died at the age of 67, was a successful child actor before launching a career which spanned 50 years.
An actor, playwright, author, composer, lyricist and singer, he starred in the West End, Hollywood and on Broadway.
In Las Vegas he was as popular a draw as Sammy Davis Jnr and Tony Bennett (who both covered his songs), Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra.
