Brave golfer Barclay Howard has beaten the leukaemia that almost killed him.
Speaking exclusively to the Daily Record, the leading amateur in last year's Open wept: "The doctor has told me my blood count is clear. I'm going to make it!
"After eight months of hell, there is light at the end of the tunnel."
Barclay, 44, went from the peak of his career at Royal Troon last summer to the depth of despair when his blood cancer was detected a few weeks later.
