All of these terms are defined in "The Online Edition of the Oxford English Dictionary," also known as the "OED Online." And all of them describe the 60 million-word dictionary itself.
Speaking from his home in Oxford, England, chief editor John Simpson said last week's on-line launch of the dictionary represents "a milestone in the 150-year history of the dictionary." The work (at www.oed.com) is published by Oxford University Press.
