CRICKET legend Geoff Boycott was branded a "bully and a brute" by his ex-girlfriend yesterday after a judge ruled he DID beat her up.

Boycott - stunned by the verdict after a retrial - hit back: "This is a farce. I am not guilty," and vowed to fight to clear his name.

He said: "I've never run away from anything in my life and I have never hit anybody either."

Margaret Moore, 47, had claimed he punched her 20 times in a row in their hotel room in the south of France. Boycott said her face injuries were caused by a fall.
