RIO FERDINAND can rip up his ticket to the World Cup Finals - with Michael Owen finishing off his slim chances.

It's hard to believe the Hammers youngster made it into the England side before the Liverpool sensation this season, but when they head for the Finals he will be strictly in the slipstream.

And that's where Ferdinand was too often yesterday to have done anything to impress watching England manager Glenn Hoddle.

Ferdinand definitely has promise, but right now he looks raw and liable to crucial mistakes against genuine pace like Owen's. ...
