TV COMIC Caroline Aherne wrote a heart-rending suicide note to her mum before swallowing a cocktail of champagne and pills, it was revealed last night.
The Mrs Merton star, who is recovering from the overdose, left two tear-stained pages apologising for causing her mother pain and telling her she loved her.
Now, say friends, Caroline, 34, is devastated at the new hurt she has caused 65-year-old Maureen by taking the overdose.
