Twenty years ago, I was given a coffee table book about Namibia. The photographs of the desert and mountain landscapes portrayed stunning scenery which looked savage and surreal, almost Martian. But unlike Mars, the landscapes contained rare and elusive wildlife.
To this day, huge tracts of Namibia remain true wilderness, untouched by man except for the long ago wanderings of small groups of Bushmen.
