TAMARISK, the leading three-year-old sprinter in Europe this year, paid an extraordinary price yesterday for his dirt debut failure this month when he was denied a place in the field for the $1 million Breeders' Cup Sprint in Kentucky.
He was surprisingly absent from the names of the 14 automatic qualifiers, released yesterday, and is not even first reserve to compete at Churchill Downs on Saturday week.
