HITACHI AMERICA ENDOWS CHAIR AT STANFORD ENGINEERING SCHOOL

STANFORD, Calif., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Hitachi America Ltd. is endowing a professorship in electronic engineering at the Stanford University School of Engineering.

The Hitachi America Chair, created by an endowment of $1.2 million, will be occupied by a professor selected by the school's dean and board of trustees.

At a meeting at the Stanford campus yesterday, Tsuneo Tanaka, president of Hitachi America Ltd., presented the pledge agreement to James F. Gibbons, dean of the School of Engineering.
