Earth Wind and Fire may be best-known for the disco floor-filler Boogie Wonderland but you don't build a 28 year career on one hit.
When the group was formed in 1971 by session drummer Maurice White he conceived it as being universal, as opposed to the ghettoised soul of the period. The aim was to create music that defied boundaries of colour, culture and categorisation and set the h ighest possible standards of composition, musicianship, performance and production.
