Roy Rogers was best known as the King of Cowboys with his horse called Trigger. But few know that his real animal passion was pigeon racing.
His enthusiasm was such that while in England nearly 30 years ago he dropped in at the home of one of the world's biggest names in the sport, Mr Wilfred Dixon, from Solihull.
Yesterday Mr Dixon, now 88, recalled how the star of TV and several films spent several hours looking at his pigeon loft and talking to him about the birds.
