Who said people don't pay crazy prices in cult antique sales?
In 1987, at the sale of the Duchess of Windsor's jewellery, Sotheby's sold a repaired alabaster photograph frame with a picture of Edward Prince of Wales in naval uniform circa 1913 for pounds 352,000.
Last week in the sale of the collection of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, that same photograph frame and photograph sold for just pounds 7,475.
