OK, so they're both McDonald's All-Americans.
But while the other 22 best high school players in the country were settling in at a downtown Boston hotel Saturday night in preparation for Wednesday's McDonald's game at the FleetCenter, Jared Jeffries and Zach Randolph were playing for the pride of Indiana in what is really the biggest night in high school basketball - the Indiana high school championship.
"Six points," Jeffries, the 6-foot-9 Bloomington North senior, wistfully said yesterday of the margin in his team's 62-56 loss to Randolph's Marion team in the Division 4A championship in Indianapolis' Conseco Fieldhouse in front of 18,263 fans.
