SPRING arrived right on cue last week. Blue skies, balmy breezes and the birds giving it laldy in the trees meant that, for just about the first time this year, gardening was a real pleasure.
Of course, there will still be plenty of days in store when thin sleet and biting winds keep even the keenest gardeners indoors.
But the important thing is that spring has shown its hand. A spell of good weather at this time of year is a real tonic, both for gardens and for gardeners. Everything is full of promise and possibilities seem endless.
