Mar. 8--Residents and business owners east of downtown may soon see the development boom come their way thanks in part to The Lofts at the Ballpark, a new $30 million apartment complex being built by the Hanover Co.
The 374-unit project will be about two blocks east of the new Enron Field baseball stadium in an area of vacant lots, abandoned warehouses and some small businesses that has long been separated from downtown by U.S. 59.
The Hanover deal has the size and scope to ignite this area with new development, said realty broker David Cook of Cushman & Wakefield.
