Wedding gowns are a high-ticket item. Because of that, we love to get them. And yet, there is some risk involved in processing such fine garments.
But wetcleaning is easier and less risky than drycleaning. Because gowns are expensive and carry a high emotional value for the customer, you may shudder to think of wetcleaning them. Realistically, though, they turn out beautifully.
They may not do as well when drycleaned, for three reasons: First, wedding gowns are usually white. Also, water works best for cleaning trains and hems, which are often heavily soiled. And trim--such as sequins, beads and their attaching glues--can't tolerate drycleaning solvent. ...
