Take a look in your bathroom cabinet and you are almost certain to find at least one product containing aloe.
This `wonder' ingredient has been hailed as nothing short of a miracle whether it is in creams, suntan lotions and shampoos.
But the discovery is nothing new. The sap of the aloe has long been recognised as being beneficial to the skin. The ancient Egyptians knew of its qualities and used it for embalming the dead. They also hung it at the entrance to their homes to bring them happiness and health.
