Mar. 29--More pumped-up pickups? Another supersized sport-utility vehicle?
When new heavy-duty pickups from Chevrolet and GMC roll into the Dallas Auto Show on Wednesday, along with the heavyweight Toyota Sequoia SUV, all three might seem too much, too late.
These 5,000-pound brutes are expected to average less than 20 miles per gallon of fuel. And with the cost of gas up 70 percent from a year ago -- and pushing past $1.60 per gallon -- lane-filling, fuel-guzzling trucks don't look much like vehicles of the future.
