THE row which has broken out over President Mary McAleese taking Communion in a Protestant church in Dublin tells us a lot about the current attitudes of leading members of the Roman Catholic Church.
Msgr Denis Faul, Professor James McEvoy and others have condemned her for doing so, and have stated bluntly that ''Rome does not allow Catholics to receive Communion in Protestant churches because full agreement in faith and morals has not yet been reach ed, as between the Roman Catholic Church and any of the Protestant denominations''.
