SOYBEAN ASSOCIATION SAYS MARKETING LOAN NEEDED FOR SOYBEANS

ST. LOUIS, Mo., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The Gramm-Rudman-Hollings automatic budget cuts, due Dec. 16 would hit soybean farmers particularly hard, warns American Soybean Association (ASA) President Wayne Bennett.

"Unless an alternative package of budget cuts is agreed upon before the deadline, the soybean loan rate will plunge to $4.14 per bushel with signficant reductions in target and loan rates for program crops," says the Lonoke, Ark., soybean farmer.
