In the time it takes you to read this, your blood has traveled all around your body. You have lots of blood in you - about 3 to 4 liters. Adults have about 5 liters of blood. Compare this to a large soft drink bottle, which holds 2 liters of liquid.
How does blood get around?
Blood travels all around your body. How does it get around? Your heart pumps it through tubes called blood vessels. There are 2 kinds of vessels. Arteries take blood away from your heart. Veins bring blood back to your heart, so it can be pumped again.
