PROJECT OVERVIEW

The local national port authority, COMISION EJECUTIVA PORTUARIA AUTONOMA (CEPA), is currently gearing-up to develop the Cutuco port in the Gulf of Fonseca. According to Edna Escobar, CEPA Manager (Engineering), the government authorities are currently waiting for Japan's BANK FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION to approve a $94,000,000 loan to fund the first phase development works. The port in question is located some 252 km by rail and 185 km by highway from the capital city San Salvador.
