PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local AZZAWIYA OIL REFINERY CO. (AORC), a subsidiary of the state-owned NATIONAL OIL CORP. (NOC), is currently gearing up to undertake a plant upgrade program. In so doing, AORC recently awarded a technical consultancy contract to France-based INSTITUT FRANCAIS DE PETROLE (IFP).
According to the terms of the service agreement, IFP will be responsible for providing process technology for:
- Light naphtha isomerization;
- Continuous catalytic reforming;
- Deep gas oil hydrodesulfurization;
- Tail gas treatment.
