Apr. 5--The Teamsters union yesterday began a media blitz to draw attention to its five-year struggle for a labor contract at Overnite Transportation Co., the largest non-union trucking company in the country.

The union has been on strike against the company for six months. It represents fewer than half of Overnite's drivers and dockworkers and has never gained a contract with the firm.

Neither side appears willing to give in as the union accuses the company of violating labor law, and Overnite accuses the Teamsters of violent attacks against its employees.
