Paul McCartney's knighthood was hailed as a truly fab start to the New Year last night.
It was recognition at last for the most successful pop composer of all time, forever remembered and loved for the "yeah, yeah, yeah" days of the Beatles.
But typically, 54-year-old Macca - who has a pounds 421million fortune - won't be calling himself Sir Paul.
An aide said: "He's always been a modest chap and won't be getting us all bowing and scraping. He's just Paul today, and he'll be just Paul tomorrow."
