AN ILL EAGLE ALIEN RETURNS TO U.S. FOR CHRISTMAS

A North American bald eagle that flew across the Atlantic and landed exhausted in Ireland will be returned to the U.S. by Aer Lingus, the Irish national airline, Tuesday, Dec. 22. The bird and its Irish caretaker, wildlife ranger Pat O'Connel, will arrive at JFK International Arrival Building on EI 105 at 3:30 p.m. They will be met by officials of the Department of the Interior who will return the bird to the wild. It is the first time an American bald eagle has been recorded in the wild in Europe and is a national news story in Ireland. ...
