The chief executive of a leading Midland company was ousted yesterday morning - at a board meeting when he expected to be congratulated on a major deal.

Mr Graham Green said he was shocked and bewildered at the action of fellow directors which meant he was forced to resign from the top job at Birmingham chemicals group WCanning.

Chairman Mr David Probert - who also announced he was retiring - said the board had lost confidence in Mr Green's ability to lead the company.

He said lawyers would sort out any compensation, with Mr Green due to pick up ...
