A five-year-old Midland girl was airlifted to hospital after she was savaged by a dog in a back garden.
The youngster, who has not been named, suffered a suspected punctured lung in the attack by a young Bull Mastiff cross.
The incident happened as the girl played with a friend in Rocester, near Uttoxeter, Staffs, yesterday afternoon. She was airlifted to North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary, where she is now recovering.
Police said the dog had been destroyed.
