Grupo DeAcero submitted the winning bid to purchase Aceros Nacionales S.A. from Altos Hornos de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (AHMSA), Monclova, Coahila, Mexico. Grupo Deacero's winning offer totaled $68 million, which includes about $9 million related to wire rod supply contracts that are pending liquidation.

Located in Tlalnepantla, Estado de Mexico, Aceros Nacionales is a steel minimill with a wire-drawing capacity of 150,000 metric tons dedicated to the production of higher value-added products. AHMSA supplied the wire rod that was used as input material for the mill's finishing facilities.
