WE ask a lot of doctors. We treat them like fast-food outlets.
Whatever our needs, at whatever time of night or day, we turn to GPs and demand instant gratification.
Heart attack? In-growing toenail? A quarter pounder andFrench fries? Lonely? Disturbed? Hypochondriac?
Or just in need of a bloody good moan?
Whatever our problem, GPs are expected at all times to be friendly, attentive and compassionate... the fount of medical knowledge and a citizen's advice bureau rolled into one.
But what happens when the copers stop coping?
