YATTA the baby elephant plays sadly in the mud - pining for his mother who was killed by callous poachers eager for her ivory tusks.
The distraught young animal suffered terrible stress and trauma after witnessing the brutal slaying.
But Yatta is one of the lucky ones - he is being cared for by wildlife lovers at an elephant orphanage and should eventually return to full health.
For his mother - and thousands of other victims of the cruel ivory trade - it is already too late.
