It has become increasingly evident that in populations of people with intellectual disability levels of cardiovascular fitness are very low and the prevalence of obesity is high. It is generally accepted that sedentary lifestyles contribute to both increased obesity and low fitness levels, however to date, there is barely any published data on physical activity levels for this population.
