BY THE ARMY CORPS OF Engineers' Count, the 44,440 acres of Bull Shoals beat out the Grand Canyon last year as a tourist magnet.
And Greers Ferry Lake, with its 15 parks and 48,000 acres of pristine water 60 miles to the southeast, slam-dunked the Statue of Liberty in the bid for 1999 visitors.
In fact, the pair of lakes at the top of this year's Arkansas Business tourists ranking could have combined to out-draw the Great Smoky Mountains National Park -- although the giant green collage of rocky tops and pines traverses the corners of two states and spreads out over 514,885 acres of southern Appalachia.
