Extreme Networks (Nasdaq: EXTR) has taken several steps to help deliver broadband switching solutions based on scalable Ethernet. The company has taken a leadership position in working with six other vendors to form the new 10 Gigabit Ethernet Alliance. Extreme Networks' director of product marketing, Tony Lee, is serving as the president of the organization. Previously, Lee held the position of chairman for the Gigabit Ethernet Alliance from 1996-1999; Extreme Networks was also a steering committee member of this Alliance.
