According to the Brazilian national electrical energy agency Aneel, EDP, Bargoa, Red Electrica, National Grid and Enel are interested in the auction for the Norte-Sul II power energy transmission lines, the extension of the Norte-Sul line and the interconnection between the southeastern and northeastern lines, which will have together 2,900 km in length and will be wholly set up until end December, 2002. Norte-Sul II's auction will take place on July 20, 2000. The 1,200-km transmissionline will generate revenues up to R$145.2mil per year until the 15th year of the concession, and up to half of that during the next 15 years. ...
