HFN REPORT-Crowds of Middle America shoppers shop national chains such as J.C. Penney, Sears and Kohl's for moderately priced home furnishings. HFN's Secret Shopper visited these three stores in Paramus, N.J., to check out area rugs and accents.
KOHL'S
Proximity: The rug department is on the second floor. There is no signage indicating the rug department. Instead, there are name brands on the walls above the sections.
Merchandising: The accent rugs are folded on five two-sided shelves, approximately 10-feet long each. There were also approximately 16 different styles of large area rugs, hanging back-to-back horizontally on racks with rollers ...
